Aftercare

Tattoo aftercare instructions

 

  • Wash hands before touching your tattoo.

 

  • Remove the bandage after 2-3 hours.   Never re-bandage your tattoo!!

 

  • Wash your tattoo and surrounding area with antibacterial soap and water.

 

  • Let your tattoo dry for 24 hours.   After 24 hours, start LIGHTLY applying H2Ocean cream or unscented Lubriderm 2-3 times a day. (if there is any irritation with the application of the cream, try switching to unscented Aveeno).

 

  • Do not use Vaseline or any other cream or lotion on your tattoo.

 

  • No swimming or tanning until your tattoo is completely healed.

 

  • If your tattoo does scab or flake, DO NOT pick it or scratch it.

 

  • Call Body by Design at (708) 338-4151 if you have any other questions or concerns.

Piercing Aftercare Instructions

 

Naval, nostril, eyebrow, nipple, and all ear piercing

 

  • Always wash your hands prior to cleaning your piercing.   Wash your piercing 2-3 times a day with an antibacterial soap.Do not rotate the jewlery when washing, this could cause the soap to enter the piercing and cause irritation to the area.   In between your cleanings, spray H2Ocean Piercings Aftercare spray on the area.   DO NOT WIPE IT OFF!!   H2Ocean safely removes any dried discharge.

 

  • Do not touch your piercing other then to clean it.   Don’t let anyone else touch it, either.

 

  • Do not change your jewelry before it is completely healed.   Ask your piercer how long the healing process is for your particular piercing, as it may vary.   Remember, that even if it looks healed, it may not be completely healed.   A piercing will heal from the outside in.

 

  • Avoid hot tubs during the healing process.   Pools are fine as long as you wash your piercing afterwards.

 

  • Do not wear tight fitting clothes that may irritate and rub your piercing.   For naval piercings, NO BELTS UNTIL YOU ARE COMPLETELY HEALED!!!!

 

 

Aftercare for all oral piercings

 

  • Rinse your mouth with H@Ocean mouthwash anytime that you eat, drink, or smoke.   (anything but water or ice)   You may also use original flavor Listerine, diluted 50/50 with water.   The best way to reduce any swelling is with ice.

 

  • No beer for 2 weeks.   Beer contains yeast which can cause thrush, which is a yeast infection in your mouth!!

 

  • No oral sex or heavy kissing until the piercing Is healed.

 

  • Do not play with jewelry, or take it out to clean it.

 

 

Labret, lip, and Monroe piercings

 

  • Follow both instructions for oral and other piercings, as one side of the jewelry is in your mouth, and the other side is on the face.
